Last Thursday, October 26, in the Auditorium of the Eduardo Morales Santos Research Centers Building (REMS), Dr. Verónica Paredes, researcher of the CEDENNA Nanostructures Chemistry Line and professor at the Andrés Bello University, offered an interesting talk about "Coordination Polymers: an adaptable chemical platform to obtain different properties."

Dr. José Marco Sanz, belonging to the Blas Cabrera Institute of Physical Chemistry (IFQ) in Madrid, Spain, was recently at CEDENNA developing a series of activities and meetings, in the context of an international collaboration for the project FONDECYT 1201249 (Electronic properties of coordination compounds based on functionalized mixed-valence polyoxometalates coordinated to lanthanide ions), invited by Dr. Diego Venegas Yazigi, who leads the center's Nanostructures Chemistry Line.

Students from the Pumahue School in Huechuraba learn about the nano world

Completely surprised and eager to return, the 4th year students of the Pumahue School in Huechuraba visited the Center for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (CEDENNA).

After an introductory talk to the nano world, given by our Executive Director, Dr. Juan Escrig, the students took an unforgettable tour of the Nanosafety, Nanoniomedicine, Nanostructure Chemistry and Electronic Microscopy laboratories, thus creating an enormous bond between students and nanotechnology.

UTA Tirana Campus receives the photographic exhibition "Images of the Nanoworld"

Until Friday, November 3, the exhibition "Images of the Nanoworld" will remain on display at the La Tirana Campus of the University of Tarapacá, a traveling exhibition that hopes to tour a large part of the country, bringing nanoscience and nanotechnology to children, young people and adults.

Students from Juan Bautista Durán School visit CEDENNA

Completely enthusiastic, surprised and eager to return, the 4th year students of the Juan Bautista Durán School visited the Center for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (CEDENNA).

After an introductory talk to the nano world, given by our CEDENNA researcher and Leader of the Nanosafety Laboratory, Dr. Mauricio Escudey, the students took an unforgettable tour of the Nanosafety, Nanoniomedicine, Nanomagnetism, Packaging and Electronic Microscopy laboratories, achieving way, create a huge link between students and nanotechnology.

CEDENNA Foundation and Bernardo O'Higgins University sign collaboration agreement

  • Researchers from both institutions are already working together on the characterization and identification of rare earths, a project that they hope will obtain funding from Fondef.

Strengthening collaboration with different institutions that carry out cutting-edge research and technology is one of the objectives of the collaboration agreement signed between the Nanoscience and Nanotechnology Center Foundation (CEDENNA) and the Bernardo O “Higgins University (UBO).

Students from San Miguel de los Andes School visited CEDENNA

On Friday, October 6, 30 3rd and 4th grade students from Colegio San Miguel de los Andes visited us. After a welcome and introductory talk about the nano world, given by the Director of CEDENNA, Dr. Juan Escrig, the students took a tour of different laboratories of the center, including Nanomedicine, Electronic Microscopy, Nanomagnetism, Packaging and Nanosafety.

Exhibition “Images of the Nanoworld” begins its tour of Chile from Arica

On September 28, the Exhibition "Images of the Nanoworld" was inaugurated at the Saucache Campus Library (Arica) of the University of Tarapacá (UTA), which brings together 12 images of nanoparticles of various materials, captured through electron microscopy by researchers from the Nanoscience and Nanotechnology Center, CEDENNA, who then applied color and textures to amaze us with the beautiful photographs that give life to this original exhibition.
