We thank everyone for their interest in this event, which during this year has given life to the traveling exhibition that has already toured the Metropolitan Region and on Thursday, September 27, begins its journey through Chile from Arica, at the Saucache Campus of the University of Tarapacá ( Arica).

The Center for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, CEDENNA, will represent Chile in an interlaboratory test to be carried out among the OECD countries to determine the "Solubility and dissolution rate of nanomaterials". Last July, the Nanosafety Unit participated in a first informative meeting, in which it was indicated that prior to the development of this test, a training day must be completed that will take place in September in Schmallenberg (Germany).

Preparation of nanoparticles of different materials and sizes; electron microscopy SEM and TEM; soil analysis; 3D prototyping; improvement in the properties of recyclable materials and determination of toxicological properties of nanomaterials are some of the services that the Center for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, CEDENNA, offers the country and its companies.

An entertaining and fruitful day was the one that took place on the morning of Thursday, August 31 at CEDENNA with the 2023 Alumni Workshop, an opportunity in which students and alumni of postgraduate courses at the center received tools, advice and experiences that could be very useful to them. useful in their path as professionals dedicated to science and research.

The executive director of the Center for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (CEDENNA), Dr. Juan Escrig, described the entity's participation in the seminar “Challenges and Opportunities in Small Mining” as an “important door for collaboration with small-scale mining. For a Sustainable Development Model”, organized by the Ministry of Mining, Sonami and ANID.

By the unanimity of its members, the board of directors of the Center for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, CEDENNA, elected Dr. Juan Escrig Murúa as the new executive director of the institution, replacing Dr. Dora Altbir Drullinsky, who directed the Center from its inception. creation and managed to position it as the main reference for nanoscience and nanotechnology in the country.

Open Lab CEDENNA is an innovative program that aims to create a node of associated companies to promote research and technological development, in the search for innovative solutions to the challenges of the different productive sectors of the country.

Undergraduate and postgraduate students, postdoctoral researchers and technological developers, attached to the Center.

The German company Kipu Quantum GmbH and the Center for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, CEDENNA, through the University of Santiago de Chile, signed a Research Agreement to develop digital, analog and digital-analog quantum computing solutions.

This agreement has a significant impact for the country, since it is the only one signed in Chile and Latin America by this German software company, focused on the development of specific quantum algorithms for applications and hardware that are marketed as business solutions.
