"Nanos a la Obra" premieres second program on CEDENNA and Radio Cooperativa Ciencia

Today we want to highlight the second program carried out in collaboration between the Science Cooperative and the Center for the Development of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (CEDENNA).

On this occasion, we have the participation of Dr. Dora Altbir, director of the CEDENNA Foundation and National Prize for Exact Sciences 2019, along with Dr. Álvaro Espejo, researcher associated with CEDENNA. Both experts discussed the fundamental importance of nanoscience and nanotechnology in the field of mining.

Today the person in charge of the Nanobiomedicine Laboratory of the Center for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, Dr. Patricia Díaz and the Associate Researcher at CEDENNA and Professor at the University of Talca, Dr. Cristian Vilos, were in the "Nanos a la Obra" Program of Cooperativa Ciencia talking about "Advances in Medicine Thanks to Nanotechnology".

The "Nanos a la Obra" program is an alliance between Radio Cooperativa Ciencia and CEDENNA to explore the most advanced research in nanoscience and nanotechnology in our country.

Today we want to highlight the opinion column published by Usach al Día by our Executive Director Dr. Juan Escrig.

In the Column, mining work from the nanoworld is highlighted, where Dr. Escrig pays tribute to those who, with their effort and dedication, have turned mining into one of the pillars of our economy.

Today we highlight what was the third chapter of "Nanos a la Obra" published by Cooperativa Ciencia! 

In the third episode of the chapter "Nanos at Work", the emerging field of Nanomedicine was delved into with two prominent CEDENNA researchers. Dr. Cristián Vilos, director of the Nanomedicine Center at the University of Talca, and Dr. Patricia Díaz, head of the CEDENNA nanobiomedicine laboratory, offered us a close look at how nanotechnology is transforming modern medicine.

Cooperativa Ciencia highlighted on its portal that a group of CEDENNA-USACH researchers are developing nanoparticles from natural polymers, loaded with antifungal agents of botanical origin to prevent damage caused by wood fungi in fruit trees and vineyards.

Plant nanoparticles developed in Chile open new horizons in agriculture and health

Today in the online newspaper El Mostrador the innovative scientific advance being worked on within the CEDENNA Center for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, Green Nanoparticles, was highlighted.

These specimens come from a diversity of native and Antarctic plants. This milestone promises to transform agriculture and health, offering more efficient and sustainable solutions in pest control and the fight against multi-resistant bacteria, marking a significant step in the country's scientific innovation.
