CEDENNA signs an important research agreement with the German company KIPU QUANTUM

The German company Kipu Quantum GmbH and the Center for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, CEDENNA, through the University of Santiago de Chile, signed a Research Agreement to develop digital, analog and digital-analog quantum computing solutions.

This agreement has a significant impact for the country, since it is the only one signed in Chile and Latin America by this German software company, focused on the development of specific quantum algorithms for applications and hardware that are marketed as business solutions.

CEDENNA Alumni Workshop: aimed at CEDENNA postgraduate students and alumni

Tips for a successful application to competitive funds and programs; tips to integrate into your CV what recruiters consider most relevant; keys for labor insertion; how to formulate a project that generates interest in companies, etc. That and more includes the ALUMNI CEDENNA Workshop aimed at postgraduate students and alumni studying at our center.

The event will take place on Thursday, August 31, from 9:00 a.m., in the Auditorium of the REMS Research Centers Building.

Group of companies visited CEDENNA seeking to incorporate nanotechnology into their processes

More than 30 companies learned about the potential of this scientific discipline and the funding from Corfo-Innova to use it in their developments

 

Pleasantly surprised by the multiple applications that nanotechnology can contribute to the development of their companies, the representatives of more than thirty productive entities who toured the CEDENNA laboratories to learn first-hand about the way in which the applications of Chilean nanoscience they can help them improve their performances and solve their challenges.

Technology Transfer Workshop

An interesting and participatory Technological Transfer Workshop was held by CEDENNA on Monday, June 12, an opportunity in which researchers from the different lines of the center were able to share both their advances in different developments and the challenges, problems and experiences in their processes to materialize projects, in in order to contribute to different productive sectors.

CEDENNA researcher nominated member of the Chilean Academy of Sciences

In an extraordinary session and by unanimous vote, the Chilean Academy of Sciences appointed the CEDENNA researcher, Dr. Juan Alejandro Valdivia Hepp, as a corresponding member of the scientific entity after a rigorous selection process in which his career, prestige, quality of research and contribution to the training of new scientists. Dr. Valdivia is a PhD in Physics from the University of Maryland, in the USA, a Simulations researcher at CEDENNA and a tenured professor in the Physics Department of the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Chile.

Traveling Exhibition "Images of the Nanomundo" arrived at the Nicanor Parra Library of the Diego Portales University

The exhibition "Images of the Nanomundo" concluded its visit to the Ministry of Science, where it surprised both the authorities of that portfolio and the public that was able to visit it in the hall of this Secretary of State during the three weeks that it was housed. Now, the exhibition has been installed in the hall of the Nicanor Parra Library of the Diego Portales University, where it will remain until July 8.

Secondary students learned about Electron Microscopy and the nano world

The students of the Swiss Confederation Lyceum who visited the center to learn about nanoscience and nanotechnology were amazed by the state-of-the-art electron microscopy equipment. This, within the framework of the work they do in the Science workshop coordinated by the teacher Daniela Andaur. The Biology teacher participated in the ProNano held by CEDENNA in October 2022 and since then she has been especially motivated to bring the nano world closer to her students. “These occasions cannot be replicated in high school, they are essential activities that must be done.
