"From theory to practice: how nanotechnology can help solve the environmental water crisis". With this great theme, the 2023 season of the CEDENNA Seminar Cycle began, a day that was highly attended by researchers and students interested in knowing what Drs. A group of researchers and academics from the Universidad de Los Andes (UANDES) participated in a day of talks offered by CEDENNA researchers and then visited some of the laboratories of the center to learn about part of the developments that are carried out there. This activity was carried out within the framework of the collaboration agreement signed by both institutions to promote the exchange of experiences and knowledge, thus defining some joint initiatives.

With interesting exhibitions that gave an account of the work that is carried out at the level of applied research for the production of containers and packaging with minimal environmental impact, this Monday, January 16, the International Seminar "Innovation in the development of new materials from polymers" was held. biobased: moving towards sustainability".

Promoting the incorporation, participation and leadership of women in the scientific field is the main objective of the CEDENNA Gender Commission, which was established this week.

These are two ANID projects. The first one is called, "Decontamination of water resources through the use of 3D structures reinforced with allotropes of carbon and nanoparticles: A theoretical-experimental collaboration." The members of the CEDENNA team are Dr. Samuel Baltazar (project director), Javier Rojas and Dr. Pamela Sepúlveda, all from USACH; Dr. Felipe Valencia (Universidad Mayor) and Dr. Alejandra García (CIMAV Institute, Mexico).

Two versions will be held this year by ProNano, the training workshop for secondary school teachers that CEDENNA has traditionally offered once a year. Now we will have a version in the first semester, already scheduled for Thursday, March 2, and another for the second semester of 2023.
