Cedenna Foundation is already a reality

This week Cedenna took one more step to become the Foundation Center for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology with the beginning of its business line: invoices and payments for services contracted to the Center will be issued from the Foundation, from the receipt of the respective legal authorization from the Internal Revenue Service. The new institutional framework has signed agreements with different universities to streamline technology transfer processes, which are part of the Foundation's focus.

Director of Cedenna receives Doctor Honoris Causa Degree of the University of Tarapacá

As part of the commemoration of its 40th anniversary, the University of Tarapacá (UTA) awarded with the degree of Doctor Honoris Causa to the director of Cedenna, Dr. Dora Altbir Drullinsky, “in recognition of her valuable contribution to national and international scientific research in the field of Nanoscience”.
The ceremony was held in the central house, in Arica city, in the presence of the members of the Board of Directors and the academic body of the UTA.

Cedenna works on the creation of a Service Management System

Cedenna's Technological Projects Development Group has created a service management system that allows regulating the protocols of the center for the reception and treatment of samples and, in this way, establish a more fluid and environmentally sustainable relationship with the companies that request the benefits that Cedenna offers. The system considers a standard form for the reception of samples, and includes indications on the amount of material required, to avoid over-stock.

Cedenna conducted Nanosecurity training with the only ELPI + in South America

The Nanosecurity research team conducted training in the use of ELPI + (Electrical Low Pressure Impactor), a unique equipment in South America that Cedenna obtained thanks to the funds corresponding to the IX Fondequip Medium Scientific and Technological Equipment Contest.
It is a highly specialized instrument that will allow Chile to put itself at the forefront in the detection of atmospheric aerosols and nanoparticulate material.

Cedenna enhances its digital communication on Social Networks

As a result of the pandemic in Chile, Cedenna has promoted early this year a strategy to consolidate the center's presence on social networks (twitter, Linkedin and Instagram).
From January till now (9 months), the Cedenna's digital community on social media increased from 3,279 to 5,168 users, reaching an increase of 58%.
The network that has grown the most in this period is LinkedIn, rising from 735 to 1717 followers during November.

Cedenna and INIA seal a strategic alliance to generate agri-food projects

The Agricultural Research Institute (INIA) reached an agreement with Cedenna to jointly explore projects in which the use of nanoparticles could be instrumental in improving crops. While the world population is growing significantly, the challenge is to increase production, however, it is necessary to do so taking care of the soils in order to reach the population with healthy food and allow sustainable development.
