An interesting and participatory Technological Transfer Workshop was held by CEDENNA on Monday, June 12, an opportunity in which researchers from the different lines of the center were able to share both their advances in different developments and the challenges, problems and experiences in their processes to materialize projects, in in order to contribute to different productive sectors.
In an extraordinary session and by unanimous vote, the Chilean Academy of Sciences appointed the CEDENNA researcher, Dr. Juan Alejandro Valdivia Hepp, as a corresponding member of the scientific entity after a rigorous selection process in which his career, prestige, quality of research and contribution to the training of new scientists. Dr. Valdivia is a PhD in Physics from the University of Maryland, in the USA, a Simulations researcher at CEDENNA and a tenured professor in the Physics Department of the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Chile.
The exhibition "Images of the Nanomundo" concluded its visit to the Ministry of Science, where it surprised both the authorities of that portfolio and the public that was able to visit it in the hall of this Secretary of State during the three weeks that it was housed. Now, the exhibition has been installed in the hall of the Nicanor Parra Library of the Diego Portales University, where it will remain until July 8.
The students of the Swiss Confederation Lyceum who visited the center to learn about nanoscience and nanotechnology were amazed by the state-of-the-art electron microscopy equipment. The second day of the CEDENNA Seminar Cycle addressed how nanotechnology can contribute to the production of safe food, reducing the amount of fertilizers and pesticides used in the fields. And at the same time, from the perspective of nanosecurity, the importance of considering the impact that nanomaterials can have on soils and plants.

From Monday May 15 to Friday May 27, the CEDENNA exhibition "Images of the Nanomundo" will be installed on the esplanade of the Bellas Artes Metro Station for the public of all ages to visit and discover, through playful and beautiful images, the amazing world of nanoscience and nanotechnology.
"From theory to practice: how nanotechnology can help solve the environmental water crisis". With this great theme, the 2023 season of the CEDENNA Seminar Cycle began, a day that was highly attended by researchers and students interested in knowing what Drs. Samuel Baltazar and Pamela Sepúlveda would expose on this matter that is so relevant today.
The speakers pointed out that the use of nanotechnology was born as an efficient technological proposal for various environmental problems, such as the contamination of aqueous matrices.
A group of researchers and academics from the Universidad de Los Andes (UANDES) participated in a day of talks offered by CEDENNA researchers and then visited some of the laboratories of the center to learn about part of the developments that are carried out there. This activity was carried out within the framework of the collaboration agreement signed by both institutions to promote the exchange of experiences and knowledge, thus defining some joint initiatives.
