Nanotechnology to detect pesticides in less time and in a simple way
As a contribution to agricultural producers and food safety, research carried out by the Center for the Development of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (CEDENNA) and the Agricultural Research Institute (INIA) develops a technique that uses fluorescent nanoparticles to detect concentrations of pesticides in fruits and vegetables.
Cedenna introduces mining sensor for GETs
The Nanoscience and Nanotechnology Center Cedenna created a sensor that allows real-time monitoring of the detachment of wear elements from mining extraction shovels (GETs) and, in this way, prevent pieces of metal from interfering with crushing work.
Cedenna begins collaboration with SQM to promote electromobility in Chile
Cedenna began a collaboration with SQM Salar, aimed at improving the raw material used in the manufacture of lithium batteries. Executives from SQM's New Technologies Division visited the center and met the teams and researchers that will work on this development. On the occasion, they highlighted that working with Cedenna will allow the company to better respond to its own clients.
Cedenna Foundation is already a reality
This week Cedenna took one more step to become the Foundation Center for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology with the beginning of its business line: invoices and payments for services contracted to the Center will be issued from the Foundation, from the receipt of the respective legal authorization from the Internal Revenue Service. The new institutional framework has signed agreements with different universities to streamline technology transfer processes, which are part of the Foundation's focus.
Director of Cedenna receives Doctor Honoris Causa Degree of the University of Tarapacá
As part of the commemoration of its 40th anniversary, the University of Tarapacá (UTA) awarded with the degree of Doctor Honoris Causa to the director of Cedenna, Dr. Dora Altbir Drullinsky, “in recognition of her valuable contribution to national and international scientific research in the field of Nanoscience”.
The ceremony was held in the central house, in Arica city, in the presence of the members of the Board of Directors and the academic body of the UTA.
Cedenna works on the creation of a Service Management System
Cedenna's Technological Projects Development Group has created a service management system that allows regulating the protocols of the center for the reception and treatment of samples and, in this way, establish a more fluid and environmentally sustainable relationship with the companies that request the benefits that Cedenna offers. The system considers a standard form for the reception of samples, and includes indications on the amount of material required, to avoid over-stock.
Nanobiology: Internal Seminar on Chronic Pain Treatment
The use of nanobiotechnological elements in the treatment of chronic pain was the center of the conversation of the Cedenna researchers in the internal seminar held on Thursday, November 26, with Dr. Luis Constandil, who wondered if after 10 years of designing , synthesizing and testing the efficacy of various nanoparticles for the treatment of chronic pain, it is possible to think about undertaking in this field to spread its benefits. Dr.
VI National Congress of Nanotechnology concludes with success in remote mode
During the last week of November, the VI National Nanotechnology Congress was held remotely.
The biannual meeting allows academics and undergraduate and graduate students to share and learn about the work that the scientific community develops in this disciplinary area and the projections of its various fields of interest and lines of research.
Simafe 2021 was held in hybrid format in Temuco
On Friday, November 26, the XVI International Seminar on Condensed Matter Physics and Statistical Physics, Simafe 2021, concluded.
As a result of the pandemic, the scientific meeting this year was held in alternate hybrid format, virtual and face-to-face talks at the University of La Frontera, in the city of Temuco.
