For a decade now, the Center for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, CEDENNA, has annually held a contest among its researchers to collect artistic images of the nano world, which are used for the calendars that the center prepares each year and distributes free of charge in educational establishments all over the world. the country.

Third and fourth-year high school students from Colegio San Andrés de Maipú visited the Center to learn firsthand about the fascinating world of nanoscience and nanotechnology.

During the visit, the students toured the Microscopy, Nanosafety, Nanobiomedicine, Packaging, and Plant Nanobiotechnology laboratories, where they observed the work of our researchers. This experience allowed them to discover how scientific advances in these areas are transforming the world and generating innovative solutions to various challenges.

CEDENNA opens call for entries to the 2025 Internal Image Competition

The Center for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (CEDENNA) invites undergraduate and graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, and technology developers affiliated with the Center to participate in the 2025 CEDENNA Images Contest.

This initiative seeks to collect the best images obtained from nanoscience and nanotechnology research, whether through electron microscopy, simulations, or other techniques, with the aim of bringing scientific work closer to the general public and fostering a scientific culture in our country.

The CEDENNA Foundation and the Center for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology are now accepting applications for the next edition of the Nanoscience and Nanotechnology Course for Healthcare Professionals, a training program designed to provide up-to-date tools on how nanotechnology is transforming clinical practice in diagnosis, therapies, tissue regeneration, bioimaging, and nanomaterial safety.

This course is a continuing education activity recognized by the Chilean Medical Association.

Chilean technology for space: CEDENNA, UAI and Usach develop coatings for nanosatellites

An innovative national initiative seeks to position Chile as a key player in the development of technology for the space industry. This project, recently awarded through the Fondef competition, is led by Adolfo Ibáñez University (UAI) and directed by Dr. Alejandro Pereira. It brings together the University of Santiago (USACH), the Center for the Development of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (CEDENNA), the Chilean Air Force (FACH), and the Spanish company Nanostine.

CEDENNA wins the 2025 National Competition for Applied Research Centers (ANID)

The Center for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (CEDENNA) has once again been selected by the National Research and Development Agency (ANID) to receive state funding under the 2025 National Competition for Applied Research Centers. ANID's decision recognizes the outstanding work carried out by its researchers for over 15 years and ensures its continued status as one of Chile's leading centers for nanoscience and nanotechnology research.
