Between May 25 and 30, 2025, a team of researchers and a student from CEDENNA actively participated in the International Workshop on Spintronics (Spin Galápagos 2025), held at the Universidad San Francisco de Quito, on its beautiful San Cristóbal Campus, located in the Galapagos Islands, Ecuador.

During the event, Dr. Pedro Landeros gave a distinguished guest talk entitled “The toroidal moments in confined nanomagnets and their impact on magnonics,” in which he discussed in depth the role of toroidal moments in confined nanomagnets and their relevance to the field of magnonics.

Chile launches its first Nanotechnology course for Health Professionals

The CEDENNA Foundation launches a pioneering initiative that seeks to bring cutting-edge science closer to medical practice, with the support of the Medical Association.

For the first time in Chile, healthcare professionals will be able to access specialized training in nanoscience and nanotechnology, focusing on their applications in diagnosis, treatment, and regenerative medicine. The course, organized by the CEDENNA Foundation, features the participation of leading researchers from the country.

Third- and fourth-year students from Liceo de Aplicación participated in a visit to the Center for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (CEDENNA), where they were able to learn about the scientific and technological work promoted by our center.

During the tour, the students explored various laboratories, including those for Electron Microscopy, Nanomagnetism, Nanobiomedicine, Packaging, and Nanostructure Chemistry. There, they had the opportunity to interact directly with researchers leading cutting-edge projects in these areas.

COPEC visits CEDENNA to explore opportunities for collaboration and innovation

With the aim of exploring new opportunities for collaboration and advancing the search for innovative solutions to current challenges, CEDENNA received a visit from COPEC today.

During the day, Elisa Castillo, Project and Innovation Engineer at COPEC's Engineering Department, toured the center's laboratories and held meetings with CEDENNA researchers. Within the framework of a joint collaboration between CEDENNA and the University of Santiago de Chile (USACH), we had the pleasure of receiving a visit from a delegation from the University of Los Lagos

During the day, nearly 12 researchers toured our facilities, learning firsthand about the work carried out in the Transfer, Nanosafety, and Nanobiomedicine laboratories.

These types of academic and scientific exchanges not only strengthen ties between institutions but also promote scientific and technological development at the national level.

The visit began with an introductory talk given by the Director of the CEDENNA Center Program, Dr. Juliano Casagrande Denardin, who provided an overview of the impact of nanoscience and the main lines of research being developed at the center.

CEDENNA sparks amazement at the Puerto Ideas Antofagasta Science Walk

The Center for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (CEDENNA) was one of the protagonists of the Puerto Ideas Antofagasta Science Walk, the largest scientific outreach event in Chile, where through the exhibition "Images of the Nanoworld" it managed to amaze children, young people and adults, bringing them closer to the fascinating world of nanoscience.
