CEDENNA researcher is a member of the Ministerial Advisory Commission on Quantum Technologies

This Wednesday, at the La Moneda Palace, the Ministers of the Interior and Public Security, Carolina Tohá, and of Science, Technology, Knowledge and Innovation, Aisén Etcheverry, presented the new Expert Commission on Quantum Technologies, which will have the mission of developing a report with 15 recommendations aimed at guiding public policies in this field, within a period of 120 days.

Among the eight experts that make up this advisory body, is Dr. Francisco Albarrán, researcher associated with CEDENNA and academic at the Department of Physics of the University of Santiago.

In an effort to understand and address the scientific and technological challenges facing Chile, the Center for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (CEDENNA) actively participated in the Workshop "Technological Challenges for Chile: Where are we going?", organized by the Universidad de la Frontera ( UFRO) in Temuco.

The event, which took place recently, focused on exploring the various challenges that the country faces in the scientific field, bringing together leading experts and professionals in the field.

Dr. Roberto Lavín, researcher of the Magnetic Nanostructures Line of the Center for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (CEDENNA) and Director of the Institute of Basic Sciences of the Faculty of Engineering and Basic Sciences of the Diego Portales University (UDP), was awarded a FONDEF (Fund to Promote Scientific and Technological Development) IDEA R&D 2024 of the National Research and Development Agency (ANID). This financial support, announced on March 25, will support its innovative high-performance concrete project with nanotechnology.

And nanotechnology is fundamental within this modernization process,” said the president of the National Agricultural Society, Antonio Walker, after visiting the “1st Nanotechnology Fair for the Agricultural Sector” organized by CEDENNA.

He added that “all the developments and applications that we have seen are a complement to this important change in Chilean agriculture.” Along with this, he highlighted the importance of this great joint reinforcement that involves the government, companies and academia.
